The
goal of the program is to increase the resident's adaptive coping
skills and the ability to take control over his/her life through
taking and meeting responsibilities in an effective manner.
In doing this, residents decrease the imminence of
non-productive behaviors such as the abuse of substances.
Another goal is to assist the resident with the development of
an effective community support network which will provide emotional,
mental, physical and spiritual support which in turn will increase the
probability that the person can maintain an effective, independent
life.
