The
ADAMHS Board conducted the annual Medicaid Audit
on February 16, 2007. Additionally, extra
staff was brought along to review other factors at
the same time.
There
were a few minor errors in the reconciliation of
billing to documentation of services. We
billed for (7) units but only four (4) were
accounted for in one chart. We had one
ineligible Individual session. So, there is
a "payback" of less than $200.00.
Even Nova's tight will be able to survive this.
There
were "no findings" in Policies and
Procedures, QA/QI, and Personal areas. AoD
review indicated 97-100% with several specific
notes identified as very good.
In
the area of Clinical Utilization, it was suggested
that the Group Counseling notes be more
descriptive - specifically, that the client's
progress toward specific goals be mentioned and
that the client's response to the group be
recorded in all the notes.
The
seven notes from a residential service that were
billed but not documented will require that we
develop a corrective plan of action. (Note:
a mention was made that providers need to WRITE
LEGIBLY for the documentation to count)
